Browsing Information

Each image in the collection belongs to one or more categories.
These categories are thematic and are intended to indicate a broader aspect of the image rather than the specific content.
If you are interested in specific content then use the search mechanism which looks for images with keywords which match the search text. These keywords are better indicators of the content of the image.

You may browse the images that have recently added to the collection.
A list of all images in accession order is also available.

When browsing you may click a displayed thumbnail to see a larger (watermarked) version and obtain more information about the image, including its actual size and when and where it was taken.

Artistic	Images in which the focus is on the aesthetic or artistic rather than the actual subject matter.	Coastal	Many of these images have both sea and land. Others were taken at or near the coast.
Fauna	Images in which there is at least one animal, bird or fish (wild, farm or domestic).	Flora	Living things which not animals but are the main subject of the image (mainly plants and flowers).
Historical	Some aspect of these images is of historical or archaeological interest.	Industry	Images of people at work or of industrial plant, or photographs taken in industrial or commercial locations and workplaces.
Leisure	Included in this category are tourist locations and attractions, sport and entertainment.	People	Images in which there are at least several people.
Rural	Countryside scenes and events or anything to be found in villages or linked to agriculture.	Scenic	Views, landscapes and attractive outside scenes.
Transport	Means of transport or transport-related images.	Urban	Events and scenes in towns and cities, or anything to be found in an urban setting.
